I have been trying to upload a theme to drupal but have not been able to because the .zip files that I download from your site do not contain .info files.

please help

unzip your file and add a

unzip your file and add a info file from another template (if you need to add your template info , make sure you do this.), then zip it back up and try it. I can do this with Joomla, maybe you can do it with Dupral...trying to help.
