Had the same issue a while
Had the same issue a while back, in certain browsrs (chrome and FF on OS X). Figured out that if you try to surf and/or open new tabs IN that same browser, it will not finish the upload and will just refresh like you stated.
Give it a try while staying on the upload page the entire time while uploading. Worked for me.
