Wodpress - How to change content bar color

Hello! Loving your software!

After successfully converting my photoshop file to a wordpress theme, I'm having trouble changing the content bar to white. I was able to change the overall background to black (witch is good) but it changes the content bar to black as well. Do you know where I would find the code to change the content bar color independently from the main background?
